Final Match of the Season Seals Promotion for the Ladies

Swanage & Wareham (I) 2 - 0 Salisbury (IV)

On Saturday Swans Ladies 1st team played their final match of a very successful season, finishing 15 points clear of the 2nd placed team in the Forest 2 Division of the South Central Hockey League. They scored 45 out of a possible 48 points, losing just one match. Their goal difference was a huge 101, scoring 110 and conceding just 9.

Saturday, however, proved to be one of their toughest games against a well versed Salisbury side. Human dynamo, Kate Black, was once again in fine form and opened the scoring, quickly followed by an assist to Emma Withers. Both goals were scored in the first half. The visitors were awarded a penalty which was brilliantly saved by the Swans keeper, Leah Rutter, once again keeping a clean sheet. This was how the match ended.

Captain Jess Hale stated "I'm so proud of how we've played this season, coming back after the COVID disruption and look forward to playing in our new Division next year."
