In torrential rain & on an exposed pitch Swans conceded an early goal. Shortly after Jan Withers, who had been playing with her usual tenacity, took a ball to the nose which stopped play and unfortunately ended her game. Swans fought back and equalised before half time, with some great attacking play. Bev Lagden passed the ball to Georgie Morris who then battled to cross the ball in front of the home team goalie where Nikki Brooke on the left post swept it into the goal.
On an increasingly waterlogged pitch and soaked to the skin Swans continued to attack & defend hard. Lauren Bowdler (GK) had an astounding game and was a safe presence in goal. Emma Withers played a key role at either end of the pitch, and well into the 2nd half Swans converted a short corner, E Withers stuck it hard into the D and Jasmine Warren slotted home the rebound. Swans then hung on to the end & defended several short corners to maintain the victory.
